General Assistant – Cashbuild – Burgersfort

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a General Assistant at Cashbuild in Burgersfort, South Africa. This role is crucial in ensuring a positive in-store experience for our customers through excellent service and maintaining high standards of stock presentation and store cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service:

  • Provide comprehensive customer service, offering advice and assistance on suitable products.
  • Effectively address and resolve customer queries and complaints.

Merchandising Standards:

  • Maintain organized and safe bulk stock areas according to the store layout plan.
  • Ensure all assigned areas of responsibility are fully merchandised in line with store layout and planograms.

Housekeeping:

  • Keep your designated areas clear of obstacles, merchandising stock promptly upon receipt.
  • Ensure aisles are free from obstructions, allowing customers to navigate safely.
  • Maintain accurate shelf price labelling within your area of responsibility.
  • Complete required checklists and adhere to canteen and toilet/shower schedules when on duty.

Safety (OHSA) Requirements:

  • Comply with all Safety, Health, and Occupational Accident (OHSA) regulations, including the proper use of safety gear.
  • Ensure the safety of both customers and colleagues within your area of responsibility, including safe movement within the store and safe stacking of stock.
  • Report any safety discrepancies or concerns to the Store Manager immediately.

Stock Management:

  • Report any damaged stock within your area of responsibility to the Store Manager.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of Grade 10 or NQF Level 3, plus one year of relevant work experience, OR
  • A Grade 12 qualification with no prior related work experience.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language spoken in Burgersfort.
  • A valid South African ID or work permit.
  • Proficiency in performing basic calculations accurately.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • The ability to perform well under pressure.
