About the Role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Debtors Administrator to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the debtors’ book with accuracy, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments, and supporting overall financial operations.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate and/or a relevant Accounting qualification
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in a debt collection environment

Advantageous:

  • Debt collection experience within a pharmaceutical environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Open and maintain customer accounts in line with standard operating procedures
  • Conduct accurate ITC checks before account approvals
  • Allocate daily customer payments to the correct accounts
  • Report customer complaints and account irregularities to management
  • Generate and review weekly debtor age analysis reports
  • Communicate with customers to confirm outstanding balances and secure payment commitments
  • Maintain detailed records of all customer interactions and correspondence
  • Update and manage accurate customer information on the master data system
  • Reconcile debtor accounts and resolve outstanding queries efficiently
  • Monitor age analysis to ensure debts remain within acceptable limits (not exceeding 60 days)
  • Perform monthly follow-ups with customers to collect overdue payments
  • Resolve disputes and address all customer queries in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standard operating practices
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times
