We are seeking a driven and experienced Cabifit Manager to join the Cashbuild team in Polokwane. This role is crucial for protecting and growing our market share while ensuring profitability within the store, aligning with the overall company strategy. Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Issue and follow up on quotations to drive sales, managing the quote process and special orders.
  • Ensure estimations and cutting lists are accurate and completed within agreed timeframes.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to maintain the store’s competitiveness.
  • Minimise wastage and customer complaints through accurate machine calibration and precise interpretation of cutting lists.
  • Ensure daily cleaning and preventative maintenance of machinery are carried out.
  • Promote Loyalty Programmes, including VIC and Charge Card customers.
  • Implement and monitor the Customer Service Strategy, ensuring reliable and prompt delivery services.
  • Grow and maintain the customer and VIC client base, recommending range improvements to suit market needs.
  • Act on customer survey feedback by implementing action plans.
  • Ensure effective employee scheduling to provide exceptional customer service.

Operational Management

  • Manage an efficient delivery service, ensuring correct rates are charged and deliveries are dispatched within required timeframes.
  • Communicate any delayed deliveries to customers and make appropriate arrangements.
  • Order stock, manage shrinkage within the store, and oversee Wall-to-Wall Stock-Takes.
  • Manage damaged, obsolete, and slow-moving stock items.
  • Analyse security requirements and implement necessary changes.

Financial & Asset Control

  • Manage debtors, petty cash, daily banking, shorts and overs, and credit cards.
  • Oversee the maintenance and protection of racking, displays, signage, forklifts, generators, cutting and edge machinery, IT equipment, telephone systems, the safe/vault, and all items listed on the Asset Register.
  • Manage the store according to the Financial Model, benchmarks, and budgets.

Human Resources & Safety

  • Recruit and induct all employees, ensuring appropriate training and development programs, including succession and backup plans.
  • Manage manpower requirements in line with company benchmarks.
  • Foster open communication with the Store Employee Forum and manage employee relations and performance management processes.
  • Manage safety aspects in line with local legislation (OHSA) and neighbouring countries, ensuring checklists are complete, and safety representatives are appointed.
  • Report incidents to management and the risk department, taking immediate action on any non-compliance.
  • Record all OHASA incidents and ensure all forklift operators have valid licenses and workshop staff are signed off as compliant.
  • Ensure the safe working conditions of all safety equipment.

Quality & Estimating

  • Ensure the minimisation of wastage through effective quality control of cutting and edging processes and accurate machine calibration.
  • Perform accurate estimating calculations according to customer specifications, providing estimates and picking/cutting lists.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related Retail/Wholesale management experience, or 5 years of general Retail/Wholesale experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer literacy.
  • Experience in carpentry products and cutting & edging would be an advantage.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Well-developed Business Acumen.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong Leadership Skills.
  • Strong Administrative Skills.
  • Must have own transport and a cell phone.
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety aspects in line with local (OHSA) and/or neighbouring Countries legislation.
  • Strong Human Resources Management Skills.
  • High attention to detail.
