As an Account Executive, you will drive business banking growth by proactively managing and expanding a portfolio of clients. The role focuses on delivering tailored financial solutions, strengthening client relationships, and identifying opportunities to enhance value through specialized banking products and services.
Experience
Minimum:
- At least 5 years of banking experience, including 3 years within a Business Banking environment
- Proven track record in managing complex portfolios of business clients with a strong service and financial analysis focus
- Experience handling high-value client relationships with diverse and sophisticated needs
- Strong background in preparing and motivating credit applications
- Experience in cost control and sales management
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or Finance
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Finance
Knowledge
Minimum:
- Solid understanding of business economics and the current economic environment
- Advanced customer relationship management (CRM) principles and techniques
- Knowledge of various industry sectors, including risk profiles and market trends
- Understanding of how external factors (economic, political, legislative, environmental) impact industries
- Sales principles and strategies to drive portfolio growth and retention
- General banking practices, procedures, and competitor offerings
- Credit principles, including credit applications and securities
- Knowledge of legal business entities and financial regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with FAIS and FICA regulations
- Ability to analyze CRM data and apply insights to client strategies
- Understanding of business banking operations, risks, and financial requirements
Preferred:
- In-depth knowledge of banking products, services, and pricing structures
- Understanding of taxation laws affecting clients
- Knowledge of administrative processes within business banking
- Experience in financial modelling, activity-based costing, and cash flow analysis
