Key Responsibilities
Customer Service:
- Provide comprehensive customer service, offering expert advice and assistance with product selection and customer queries.
- Effectively handle and resolve customer complaints, ensuring satisfaction.
Merchandising Standards:
- Maintain the bulk stock area, ensuring it is merchandised safely and adheres to the store’s layout plan.
- Ensure your designated area of responsibility is fully merchandised according to store layout and planograms.
- Maintain accurate shelf price labelling within your area of responsibility.
Housekeeping:
- Keep your assigned area free of obstacles, ensuring stock is merchandised promptly after receipt.
- Guarantee customers can navigate aisles safely and without inconvenience.
- Complete required checklists, including canteen and toilet/shower schedules, when on duty.
Safety (OHSA) Requirements:
- Adhere to Safety (OHSA) compliance, including the proper use of safety gear and ensuring the safety of both customers and staff within your area.
- Ensure stock in your area (racking and bulk) is merchandised safely to allow for smooth movement of customers and colleagues.
- Report any safety discrepancies or concerns to the Store Manager immediately.
Stock Loss Management:
- Report any damaged stock within your area of responsibility to the Store Manager.
Requirements
To be considered for this General Assistant position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of Grade 10 or NQF Level 3, coupled with at least one year of relevant work experience.
- Alternatively, a Grade 12 qualification will be considered without prior work experience.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language spoken in the Burgersfort, Limpopo area.
- Possession of a valid South African ID or work permit.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- The capacity to work effectively under pressure.
