Cashbuild is seeking a dedicated and experienced Group Accountant to join our finance team. This crucial role involves preparing all necessary information, calculations, and reports to ensure compliance for the Group and its subsidiaries with accounting obligations under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), JSE listing requirements, and the Companies Act. Key Responsibilities
Monthly Reporting
- Perform monthly calculations, reconciliations, and reporting in a timely manner.
- Ensure internal reporting aligns with IFRS and advise line management on any discrepancies and their impact on Group external reporting.
- Analyze financial results to identify trends and present them to line management.
- Prepare and finalize quarterly board pack financial information.
- Undertake ad hoc reporting as required.
Financial Statement Preparations
- Prepare and finalize Group and subsidiary financial statements, ensuring IFRS compliance.
- Coordinate and manage the timely approval of financial statements by all relevant parties.
- Assess Group policies and ensure consistent application across all subsidiaries, identifying and communicating implications of non-compliance and proposing solutions.
- Ensure external reporting adheres to IFRS.
SAP Hierarchy Maintenance
- Maintain accurate company structures, hierarchies, and charts of accounts.
- Ensure regular and timely updates are made according to approved requests.
- Assign ownership for all General Ledger accounts for reconciliation purposes.
Forex
- Maintain and update company and Group currency exchange rates across reporting systems.
- Monitor and communicate significant currency fluctuations to management.
- Calculate and assess the reasonableness of foreign currency revaluations.
Ad Hoc Group Related Projects
- Complete assigned projects by management, which may involve investigation, proposal development, and implementation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum NQF 8 (Chartered Accountant – CA(SA)).
- Completed CA article training contract.
- Deadline-driven and flexible.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
