Perpetual Inventory Controller

Location: Mondlo, South Africa

Cashbuild is seeking a meticulous and diligent Perpetual Inventory Controller to join our team in Mondlo. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of our stock records through rigorous cycle counts and investigations, ensuring the integrity of our inventory management system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perpetual Inventory Counts:
    • Conduct daily stock counts according to the Perpetual Inventory Count (PIC) Cycle.
    • Investigate all stock variances, both positive and negative, and report findings to the Store Manager.
    • Investigate and rectify negative stock quantities daily, with approval from the Store Manager.
    • Identify and report damaged stock to the Store Manager.
    • Perform mini stock-takes as directed by management.
    • Assist with preparations for wall-to-wall stock-takes and flag any areas of concern.
    • Complete normal PIC counts during full stock-takes.
  • Reporting:
    • Report daily variances to the Store Manager and/or Divisional Manager as per the Cashbuild Way.
    • Report all stock-related irregularities to Store Management and/or the Divisional Manager.
    • Escalate any unresolved irregularities to the Divisional Manager if the Store Manager does not take action.
    • Report on incorrect or poor-quality pricing, SKUs, and damaged stock.
    • Report on merchandising standards in racking and bulk areas.
    • Identify and report on bulk stock areas requiring special attention.
  • PIC Adjustments:
    • Ensure all stock adjustments are processed, verified for accuracy, and signed off by Management.
    • Validate the “End of Day Report” against the previous day’s PIC Adjustment Sheet and file accordingly.
    • Report any adjustments not completed on the day of the count cycle prior to the end of trading.
  • Filing and Administration:
    • Ensure all PIC documents are completed, signed by you, approved by the Store Manager, and filed daily.
  • Ready for Business:
    • Adhere to “Ready for Business” and “Beyond My Control” principles as per the CB Way.
  • Customer Service:
    • Adhere to the Cashbuild dress code at all times.
    • Ensure your name badge is displayed and visible to customers.
    • Provide immediate assistance with customer complaints.
  • Safety (OHSA) Requirements:
    • Ensure compliance with Safety (OHSA) regulations, including customer and staff safety within your area of responsibility.
    • Report any safety discrepancies to the Store Manager.
    • Ensure the correct safety equipment and clothing are used.

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience, or two (2) years of related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area.
  • Must be literate.
  • Possess strong numeric skills.
  • Must be accurate and capable of working under pressure.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
