General Assistant
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable General Assistant to support daily operations within an underground mining environment. The successful candidate will assist artisans, supervisors, and maintenance teams with a variety of operational tasks while ensuring compliance with safety procedures and maintaining high housekeeping standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist artisans, technicians, and supervisors with daily operational and maintenance activities.
- Handle, transport, and organize tools, materials, and equipment underground.
- Support maintenance, repair, installation, and shutdown projects as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards in all work areas.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving equipment and materials safely.
- Follow all site instructions, operational procedures, and safety requirements.
- Conduct basic equipment checks and report defects or unsafe conditions.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and workplace inspections.
- Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with general labour tasks to support efficient underground operations.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve operational objectives.
Requirements
- Previous underground mining experience will be advantageous.
- Valid Red Ticket or Medical Fitness Certificate for underground mining work.
- Physically fit and capable of working in demanding underground conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
- Willingness to assist across various operational and maintenance activities.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational standards.
Mandatory Certifications
- Valid Working at Heights Certificate.
- Valid Confined Space Certificate.
- Valid Power Tools Training Certificate.
