Assistant Manager – Cashbuild

Cashbuild is seeking a proactive and results-driven Assistant Manager to join our team in Ulundi, South Africa. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced retail professional to contribute to protecting and growing profitable market share within a store, aligning with the company’s overall strategy.

#### Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the store. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and management of a Store Business Plan aligned with company strategy.
  • Driving market share growth and achieving sales budgets and objectives.
  • Promoting customer loyalty programs and managing advertising material distribution.
  • Developing proactive plans to protect market share against competitor activities.
  • Implementing and monitoring customer service strategies to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Managing stock shrinkage, inventory control processes, and stock movement within the store.
  • Overseeing cash asset control, including debtors, petty cash, banking, and cheque/credit card management.
  • Ensuring the maintenance and protection of fixed assets such as racking, signage, equipment, and the safe.
  • Supporting human resource management functions, including recruitment, induction, training, and employee relations.
  • Maintaining high standards of store safety, including compliance with OHSA legislation.
  • Upholding housekeeping, merchandising, and yard/parking area standards.
  • Managing store operations in line with the Financial Model, benchmarks, and budgets to achieve profitability.
  • Monitoring adherence to company standards and implementing corrective action plans as needed.

#### Requirements and Qualifications

  • Grade 12 qualification is essential.
  • A minimum of two years of retail management experience.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A valid South African ID or work permit.
  • Strong accounting skills are a must.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in basic computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and administrative skills.
  • Must possess own transport and a cell phone.
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety aspects in line with OHSA and neighbouring countries’ legislation.
  • Strong human resources management skills.
