Cashbuild is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Goods Receiving Supervisor to join our team in Gauteng. This role is crucial for managing the efficient and accurate receipt of stock into our stores, ensuring seamless operations from supplier to shelf.

Key Responsibilities:

Stock Management & Control:

  • Receive stock from suppliers and accurately reconcile it against supplier invoices, delivery notes, and Cashbuild’s purchase orders.
  • Process inter-branch transfers (IBTs) both incoming and outgoing within set timeframes, ensuring no discrepancies and maintaining all relevant documentation.
  • Ensure all invoices with discrepancies are amended, endorsed, and signed off by the supplier’s representative, including the truck’s registration number.
  • Complete and hand over proof of delivery notes to suppliers with the required stamps.
  • Update the IT system with received goods accurately and within prescribed time limits.

Stock Distribution & Presentation:

  • Ensure received stock is cleared from the Goods Receiving Section (GRS) office and merchandised within designated timeframes.
  • Label stock with the appropriate SKU where it is not pre-printed on the packaging.
  • Verify the accuracy of printed SKUs and rectify any errors.
  • Adhere to Cashbuild’s pricing policy and action pending price changes according to established procedures.

Supplier Claims & Corrections:

  • Validate all supplier claims, ensuring adjustment vouchers are accompanied by the supplier’s pick-up slips or credit notes and authorised by the Store Manager.
  • Ensure any corrections made are supported by the required documentation and authorised by the Store Manager.
  • Raise supplier claims only when stock is scheduled for immediate collection.

Operational Excellence & Security:

  • Maintain a clean and tidy GRS office and receiving area, clearing excess and damaged stock.
  • Ensure a second designated Cashbuild employee is present during stock receiving and dispatching.
  • Ensure the receiving gate is not left unattended when open and that the receiving stamp and purchase order delivery book are securely stored.
  • Keep the GRS office door locked when not in use and ensure supplier truck crews remain at their vehicles.
  • Adhere to all “Ready for Business” and “Beyond My Control” processes.

Customer Service & Safety:

  • Assist with supplier queries and provide exceptional customer service to any external parties encountered.
  • Adhere to the Cashbuild dress code and ensure name badges are always displayed.
  • Ensure safety (OHSA) compliance within your area of responsibility.
  • Report any safety concerns to the Store Manager.
  • Ensure the first aid box is accessed only by authorised personnel.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 education, plus a minimum of one year of related experience, or a minimum of two years of directly relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, and preferably in the dominant language spoken in the geographical area.
  • Above-average numerical skills.
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts, including weekends.
