About the Program

Main Job Purpose
The Stock Controller ensures the timely supply and management of essential health products and inventory items, while coordinating the maintenance of healthcare equipment in compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies.

Role Deliverables

Stock and Equipment Management

  • Assist the delegated Professional Nurse in managing health products within scope of practice.
  • Order, receive, store, and issue stock to maintain optimal availability.
  • Coordinate maintenance of healthcare equipment.
  • Ensure stock and equipment management aligns with funder requirements.
  • Manage medical waste safely and according to regulations.
  • Compile and submit accurate reports on stock and equipment status.
  • Maintain all health, safety, and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment.
  • Ensure effective utilisation of resources and proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of stock and equipment activities.

Patient and Project Support

  • Support quality patient care through proper stock and equipment management.
  • Conduct duties in compliance with SANC regulations, relevant legislation, and organisational policies.
  • Support delegated administrative tasks as required.
  • Build strong relationships with patients, doctors, and other healthcare personnel.
  • Assist the MSM/TG implementation team and health facilities to ensure seamless project execution.

Human Capital Management

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards at all times.
  • Adhere to relevant legislation, Codes of Conduct, and SOPs.
  • Identify personal development needs and implement approved recommendations.
  • Comply with all safety policies and report unsafe activities to Senior Management or HR.
  • Follow organisational decision-making procedures and protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualification as an Enrolled Nurse and registration with SANC.
  • Matric Certificate.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ work experience in government and/or NPO sectors.
  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land or air if required.
  • Valid driver’s license and own car.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, record keeping, and routine database use; proficient in word processing and spreadsheets.
  • South African citizen or valid work permit.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays.

Advantageous

  • Qualifications in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Fluency in English and local languages.
  • Training or qualification in procurement and stock management.
